What wax do you use?

All our candles and melts are made from soy wax made from the soybean plant. Being that it comes from a plant, makes this wax environmentally friendly whereas classic paraffin wax made from petroleum and non-renewable.

Are there any benefits to soy wax?

Yes! Soy wax burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer. While all candles emit some black soot while burning, candles made from soy wax burns cleaner resulting in less soot. Soy wax is also an excellent fragrance carrier that does not require chemical amplifiers. All this making soy a better cleaner alternative!

What are phthalates?

Phthalates are synthetic chemicals used to make plastics flexible and make products smell good. Phthalates are usually found in popular candle scents. As candles burn, phthalates are released into the air where they may be inhaled or absorbed through the skin. However, you can rest assured as all our products are 100% Phthalate-free!

What are "wet spots" or "frosting"?

"Wet spots" are caused by shrinkage and air bubbles that occur as the wax is cooling inside the container. "Frosting" is a white crystalline layer that forms on the surface of natural waxes trying to return to their natural state. This is a natural effect that occurs throughout vegetable waxes. Wet spots and frosting are extremely common and will not affect the performance of your candle.

Candle Care (Cotton Wick)

For your candle to perform at its best.

Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" before each lighting. Light candle at least 3-4 hours the first time to avoid 'tunneling.' Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

Keep candle on a flat, fire-resistant surface. Keep candle out of reach of children and pets. Keep away from flammable materials and ALWAYS keep burning candle within sight.

Candle Care (Wood Wick)

Wood wicks will require a bit more TLC but well worth it!

First time lighting may take 1-2 tries. Tilting candle at an angle works best when lighting. Leave candle lit at least 3-4 hours first time to avoid 'tunneling.' Only trim your wood wick if it is greater than 1/4"; flame is greater than 1.5"; flame becomes wild; or candle begins to smoke. If flame appears to self extinguish it's normal. Wick will continue to heat & heighten. This may require extinguishing of flame & once cooled, gently trim & remove any ash/burned pieces of wood. Flame height can vary. Stop burning candle once it reaches 1/4". Burning lower could cause jar to get too hot or shatter/crack. Keep candle on a flat, fire resistant surface & away from flammable materials. Never leave burning candle unattended. Keep away from children & pets. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time.Â
