I'm Brenda—the owner, designer, and candle maker behind SummerCay.

SummerCay was born from a desire to create something that I would be proud of. What started in 2022 as a creative outlet quickly became something much bigger. A year later, I took the biggest leap of faith of my life, leaving my full-time job to pursue SummerCay full-time. Since then, it's been equal parts challenging, rewarding, and humbling, and I wouldn't trade the journey for anything.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn't just making candles—I was creating a feeling. Every SummerCay scent begins with a quiet moment. Not just a memory, but a feeling. A moment when everything felt exactly as it should, even if only for a few seconds.

Not the biggest moments in life, but the ones that often go unnoticed. A bike ride on the perfect summer day with the wind in your hair. Waves washing over your feet on the first day of vacation. Golden light filling the kitchen before a family dinner. A quiet walk through the woods with nothing but birdsong around you. For me, those were the moments when life felt the most beautiful. Not the loud or extraordinary moments, but the ordinary ones.

Those are the moments that inspire every SummerCay scent.

SummerCay is named after my two daughters, whose middle names are Summer and Cay. They occasionally love helping with the business, making it an even more meaningful part of our family's story. Every product is handcrafted from our home in small batches using clean-burning soy wax sourced in the U.S. and paired with phthalate-free fragrance oils that I feel good about bringing into our home—and yours.

My hope is simple.

That every time you light a SummerCay candle, you're reminded to slow down, take a deep breath, and appreciate the quiet moments when life feels beautifully complete.
