I'm Brenda—the owner, designer, and candle maker behind SummerCay.

SummerCay began in 2022 as a creative outlet and a desire to build something I could be proud of. A year later, I took the biggest leap of faith of my life: I left my full-time job to pursue this little candle business full-time. It's been challenging, rewarding, occasionally chaotic—and I wouldn't trade the journey for anything.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn't just making candles. I was creating a feeling.

SummerCay scents are inspired by the quiet, ordinary moments that somehow make life feel exactly as it should. A bike ride on the perfect summer day. Waves washing over your feet at the start of vacation. Golden light filling the kitchen. A quiet walk through the woods.

Those are the moments that inspire every SummerCay scent.

The name SummerCay comes from my two daughters, whose middle names are Summer and Cay. What started as something of my own has become part of our family's story—and that makes this business even more meaningful to me.

Every product is handcrafted in small batches with clean-burning soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance oils, with the hope that when you light a SummerCay candle, you'll slow down for a moment and enjoy the little things that often go unnoticed.
